  1. Central Scrutiny Centre and Centre and IEPFA mobile application launched by Finance Minister The Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman virtually inaugurated Central Scrutiny Centre and Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority’s (IEPFA) Mobile Application on 25th March 2021. The two tech-enabled initiatives have been launched by Ministry of Corporate Affairs to leverage digital solutions to achieve Prime Minister’s vision of “Digitally empowered India”.
  2. “IOB Trendy” Savings Account for Millennial launched by Indian Overseas Bank The Indian Overseas Bank has launched ‘IOB Trendy’, a Saving Bank account targeted at Millennials. The IOB Trendy savings account will be customized for the growing millennial population in the country by keeping their banking preferences in mind. Eligible Customers age group to open this account should be 21 years to 38 years.
  3. Virtual Meeting between Education Minister and Director General of UNESCO On 25th March 2012, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank held a virtual meeting with Director General UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay in New Delhi. They discussed key issues of mutual importance including National Education Policy, India’s response to COVID Pandemic especially in the education sector. Pokhriyal spoke about Manodarpan which is government’s initiative to provide online psychosocial support to students, teachers and families for their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
  4. “MICE Roadshow – Meet in India” brand to be launched in MP On 25th March 2021, “MICE Roadshow Meet in India” Brand and Roadmap for Promotion of India as MCIE destination were launched by Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh. MICE Roadshow -Meet in India will be organized in Chhatrasal Convention Centre, Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh from 25th March to 27th March. This event is being organized with the objective of promoting India as MICE Destination (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibition). It is being organized by Ministry of Tourism in association with Madhya Pradesh Tourism and India Convention Promotion Bureau.
  5. Auctions for Second Tranche of Commercial Coal Mining launched by Government On 25th March 2021, Central Government has launched second tranche of commercial coal auction following the award given to 19 mines out 38 in first tranche of auction in November 2020. A Comprehensive list of mines will be uploaded along with key technical data. Following this, bidders will submit their preferences for mines to be included in next round of auction. This will be a continuous process and will result in expediting auction setup. It will also help bidders to plan better and will enhance transparency across the system.
  6. Khelo India Scheme extended to 2025-26 Sports Ministry has decided to extend “Khelo India Programme” from 2021-22 to 2025-26. Ministry has also furnished Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) memorandum to Ministry of Finance to extend the annual event. As per the memorandum to Finance Ministry, an amount of 8750 crore has been estimated as a financial implication of new Khelo India Scheme. This programme is being extended after considering how this initiative has played a significant role in building a sporting culture across the country.
  7. On 25th March, International Day of Remembrance of Victims of Slavery is observed International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade is observed annually on 25th March. Speaking on the occasion, the UN Chief underlined the need of addressing pernicious and persistent consequences of slavery. He also called for renewed commitments for a world where all can live with peace, dignity and opportunity. The day was designed for annual international observance on March 25 by United Nations in the year 2007.
  8. Miscarriages Bereavement Leave Law passed by New Zealand Parliament of New Zealand passed the “Miscarriage bereavement leave law”. This legislation provides mothers and their partners a “right to paid leave” after a miscarriage or stillbirth. New Zealand has become the second country, following India, across the world to pass such legislation. The bereavement leave law was passed unanimously in parliament on 24th March 2021. It provides the employees three days leave after a pregnancy ends with a stillbirth.
  9. 2 lakh COVID vaccine doses to be gifted to UN Peacekeepers by India On 27th March 2021, India will send 2 lakh doses of COVID-19 Vaccines (AstraZeneca) to the UN Peacekeepers and then vaccines will be distributed to peacekeeping missions. Announcement to gift 2 lakh COVID-19 doses to UN Peacekeepers was announced by External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar in February 2021. The decision was taken by considering that, UN Peacekeepers operate in such difficult circumstances.
  10. In Delhi Cantt, Indo-Korean Bilateral Friendship Park Inaugurated On 26th March 2021, Indian Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh and South Korean Defence Minister, Suh Wook have inaugurated “Indo-Korean Bilateral Friendship Park” in Delhi Cantt. Friendship Park has been built to commemorate contribution of Indian peacekeepers in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. India-South Korea relations have strengthened in recent years with the convergence of Act East Policy of India and New Southern Policy of South Korea. Bilateral ties have frown multi-dimensional in the fields of Maritime security, nuclear disarmament, regional economic cooperation, counter-terrorism and energy cooperation
