Engineer Departments:- Ph.D. in related area of Engineering with first class both at UG and PG degree levels.
OR
- Tech. in related area of Engineering with first class both at UG and PG degree levels. The applicant must have qualified the GATE examination at any point of time in the past.
Architecture Department:- Ph.D. in related area of Architecture with first class both at UG and PG degree levels.
OR

General Instructions:
- Interested and eligible applicants are requested to fill the online Application Form and bring the same alongwith their original certificates and testimonials for personal interview. Candidates are also required to bring Self attested Photo copies of relevant degree & experience certificate, passport size photograph alongwith proof of identity at the time of Interview, failing which they shall not be allowed to appear in Interview.
- Applicants must fully satisfy themselves about their eligibility as prescribed in the advertisement, before appearing in the Interview. If an applicant is inadvertently allowed to appear in the Interview who otherwise does not fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements, he/she cannot, at a later date, use that as a right to claim that he/she meets the eligibility requirements. If at any stage it is found that documents submitted by the candidate are not correct then his/her candidature should be cancelled irrespective of the stage of selection process.
- Any corrigendum/changes/updates on recruitment process shall be made available on the Institute website only. No separate/ individual communication shall be made. The candidates are strictly advised to keep in touch with the institute’s website for updates, if any.
- The services of Temporary Faculty may be terminate at any time by a notice in writing given either by the Temporary Faculty to the appointing authority, or by the appointing authority to the Temporary Faculty. The period of such notice shall be one month, unless otherwise agreed upon by the Institute and the Temporary Faculty. The other terms and conditions of the service shall be specified in the letter of appointment.
- The reservation of posts shall be in accordance with the rules of the Central Government. As per Gol, Ministry of Personal, Public Grievances and Pensions, Office Memorandum No. 36036/3/2018-Estt. (Res.), dated 15th May, 2018, there shall be Reservation for Schedule Cast/Schedule Tribe/ Other Backward Class candidates in temporary appointments which are to last for 45 days or more.
- Vacancies of PwD (Persons with Disabilities) quota are horizontal and included in the total number of vacancies. Therefore, there will be no separate recruitment against PwD quota and it will be conducted simultaneously and adjusted against UR/EWS/SC/ST/OB(NCL) category to which the candidates belong.
- Candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes (Non Creamy Layer) [OB (NCL)] category should submit proper caste certificate as per the proforma of Government of India. OBC-NCL Certificate must be issued on or after April 1, 2019, and which should among others specifically mention that he/she does not belong to the persons/sections (creamy layer) as mentioned in the Department of Personnel & Training, O M. No. 36033/1/2013-Estt. (Res), dated 13.09.2017.
- EWS certificate issued on or after 1st April, 2019 shall be considered for reservation under EWS category, whose family has gross annual income below Rs. 8.00 lakh (Rupees eight lakh only) i.e. for the financial year prior to the year of application. Also persons whose family owns or possesses any of the assets as mentioned in Gol, No. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res), dated 31st January, 2019 shall also be excluded from being identified as EWS, irrespective of the family income.
- Candidates belonging to Scheduled Casts (SC) or Scheduled Tribes (ST) must bring category certificate issued by the competent authorities as mentioned in Gol F.No. 36028/1/2014-Estt. (Res.), dated 3rd September, 2015.
- The selection Committee will prepare the merit list based on performance in the interview and/or presentation on common consensus basis and draw a merit list of the successful candidates from each category. If required, the selection Committee may also draw a waiting list with sufficient number of eligible candidates from each category. No correspondence shall be entertained during the process of the selection.
- The number of advertised vacancies may change; Institute also reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without assigning any reason. Further, the Institute has right not to fill the vacancy/vacancies and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Canvassing in any form and/or bringing any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as disqualification for the post applied.
- There is no application fee. No T.A/D.A shall be paid for attending the Interview.
- Only selected candidates will be informed through a letter/email/intimation by the authority.
- No candidate will be interviewed over video conferencing or Skype.
- The process of the Interview may extend to the next day; the candidates are therefore requested to come prepared for the same. The Institute may provide unfurnished accommodation in the Institute Hostels, if available on request.
- Any legal proceedings in respect of any matter of claim or dispute arising out of this advertisement and/or an application in response thereto can be instituted only in Hon’ble High Court of Judicature at Shimla.
