  1. Aadhaar not mandatory for Jeevan Pramaan, Sandes app, attendance system Aadhaar is no longer mandatory for pensioners to get digital life certificate, Jeevan Pramaan, that is required to collect their pensions, according to the new rule notified by the government. The government has also made Aadhaar verification voluntary for its instant messaging solution ‘Sandes’ and attendance management at public offices under the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020.
  2. On 21st March, International Nowruz Day is celebrated On 21st March 2021, the International Nowruz Day was celebrated. Nowruz marks the first day of spring and is celebrated as the beginning of the new year in Balkans, the Black Sea Basin, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East and other regions.
  3. ‘Catch the Rain’ Campaign On 22nd March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to launch the “Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain Campaign” in the virtual mode. The campaign is being launched on the occasion of World Water Day. The campaign will be implemented under the theme – “Catch the Rain, where it falls, when it falls”. On the Occasion, the Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh will sign a historic Memorandum of Agreement to implement the “Ken Betwa Link Project” in the presence of Prime Minister. This will be the first project of “National Perspective Plan” for interlinking of the rivers.
  4. On 22nd March, World Water is observed On 22nd March 2021, the World Water Day is being observed. It is a United Nations designated day. The day is being observed under the theme “Valuing Water” which focuses on “How we can better protect this vital resource”. The events like approaching summer season and ongoing corona virus pandemic have made the observance of the day more significant because these events have provided a silent warning for the world about how critical the availability of clean water is.
  5. Arogya Sanjeevni Policy Arogya Sanjeevni was launched on 1st April 2020, for the policy holders and is available at the cheaper price. Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI) has allowed the policyholder in order to give this policy and has also out the related mandates. The IRDAI has standardized the Arogya Sanjeevani policy and has clearly instructed the health insurance companies to set a standard term and condition for this policy.
  6. On 22nd March, Bihar Diwas is celebrated Bihar is celebrating its 109th foundation day on 22nd March 2021. The foundation day is known as the “Bihar Day”. The day is regarded as a public holiday across the state. The day is observed every year on 22nd March. It marks the formation of state of Bihar. On this day, Bihar was carved out of Bengal by the British Government in the year 1912.
  7. 67th National Film Awards The winners for the 67th National Film Awards 2021 were announced on 22nd March 2021. This award ceremony was delayed by a year amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The National Film Awards ceremony is organized on May 3rd every year. However, the ceremony was not organized in the year 2020. The winners were finally announced on 22nd March during a press conference at the National Media Centre in New Delhi.
