- President Trump Names Patrick Shanahan as Acting Defence Secretary — President Donald Trump has announced that Defence Secretary James Mattis will depart the Pentagon by January 1. James Mattis’s Deputy, Partick Shanahan is appointed as the Acting Defence Secretary.
- 24th Consumer: National Consumers Day — The Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution celebrated the National Consumer Day 2018 on 24th December at the Kothari Auditorium, DRDO Bhawan, New Delhi. The theme of the 2018 National Consumers Day was “The theme of the 2018 National Consumers Day was “Timely Disposal of Consumer Complaints”.
- Sangeeta Verma Joins Competition Commission of India (CCI) — Sangeeta Verma, a former Indian Economic Services (IES) officer has joined the Competition Commission of India (CCI) as a member. The order of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs states that the central government has appointed Sangeeta Verma as the member of CCI for a period of 5 years from the date of assumption of charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
- P.V. Bharti Appointed as MD and CEO of Corporation Bank — According to an order issued by the Personnel Ministry on 24th December 2018, P.V. Bharthi has been appointed as managing director and chief executive officer of the Corporation Bank. P.V. Bharthi is currently working as the Executive Director in the Canara Bank.
- Indian Navy Commissions Naval Hospital INHS Sandhani — The Indian Navy has been commissioned a naval hospital ship, the INHS Sandhani at Naval station Karanja in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. INHS Sandhani was flagged by Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C) of the Western Naval Command Vice Admiral Girish Luthra and the commissioning plague of the hospital was unveiled by the Preeti Luthra, President of NWWA (Navy Wives Welfare Association), Western Region.
- 55th Anniversary of Sashastra Seema Bal Held in New Delhi — The 55th anniversary of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) was held in New Delhi on 24th December 2018. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, was the chief guest and he witnessed the raising day parade along with delegates from Nepal and Bhutan on the occasion.

- PM Modi Launches Paika Rebellion Chair in Utkal University — PM Modi announced setting up of a Chair on the Paika Rebellion, in Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. He also released a commemorative stamp and coin on the Paika Rebellion.

- B V P Rao Elected as President of Archery Association of India — B V P Rao was elected as the President of Archery Association of India (AAI), the election was held under the Supervision of former Chief Election Commssioner S.
